The national organization Big Brothers Big Sisters of America is celebrating its “Bigs” of the Year this month, and one of the people being honored lives right here in East Dallas.
Matthew Newman is the owner of My Lawn Mower & Me, a general residential and commercial lawn maintenance company based in Dallas that also serves southwest Houston.
Each Monday, Matthew Newman of My Lawn Mower & Me says peels of bananas, oranges, potatoes, onions and others food scraps are picked up and delivered directly to community gardens in Pleasant Grove, West Dallas, and most recently the WE Over ME Farm at Paul Quinn College to begin the composting process.
Lakewood neighbor Matthew Newman is giving the phrase, “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure” a whole new meaning. He wants your garbage, and the stinkier the better.
